Conscious Lawyering I
Course Overview
This is the third course in our five-part Transformative Law Program. In this part of the Program you will learn to further apply the skills learned in Essence, Identity and Archetype and Enneagram for Lawyers. In the first part of this course, you will learn to identify archetypal patterns that arise in people and situations you deal with on a daily basis. You will gain more freedom from acting out those patterns unconsciously in your own life and you will gain greater clarity in identifying them at work in others. In part two of the course we will focus on a conscious approach to role and responsibility in the legal life. We’ll focus on three vital relationships: the relationship to clients, the relationship to the legal system and the relationship to your own mission and purpose.
When you can successfully identify common archetypal patterns in the world that are acted out by people every day, you will have a tremendous power to understand behavior and predict how others will respond to circumstances that arise. You will learn the inherent limits of the key patterns—limits that keep human behavior bound to predictable outcomes. You will also identify the archetypal patterns at work in your own life. As you become familiar with the powerful unconscious forces driving your own behavior, you will gain the freedom to act outside of the control of those forces. This is the process of making the unconscious conscious, of bringing to light what was hidden from you. Once brought to light, these forces can be used consciously to empower your work and give meaning to your roles and relationships.
