Integral Lawyer Program
The Integral
Lawyer track is a four-part program that gives
lawyers a set of tools called "maps" that allow
for highly effective situational analysis. The
program is grounded in the ideas and work of noted
philosopher and writer Ken Wilber and sociologist
Don Beck, a pioneer in the field of Spiral
Dynamics.
The Integral approach provides a
framework in which virtually any type of
situational analysis can be done at a very deep
and effective level. Attorneys can use this
approach in all settings related to litigation,
business law and transactional practice. The
primary advantage to using an Integral framework
to assess situations is that it allows for a
multidimensional view. At least four dimensions
are available to us in any situation. The more we
have access to, the deeper our understanding. The
deeper our understanding, the more effective our
response.
Lawyers who complete Integral
training will find that they are often one or more
steps ahead of peers and adversaries in analytical
understanding. Moreover, they will have an ability
to see deeply into situations quickly as they
arise. They will be able to quickly take into
account various factors relating to their own
perception, that of second and third parties to a
situation and to the situation itself.
The
Maps alluded to above consist of flexible
frameworks in which situations can be viewed.
Transformative Law provides Maps to students
within the courses in this track, but students
will learn to create their own Maps as well. The
way Maps are constructed is based on Ken Wilber's
parameters, including: the Four Quadrant matrix
for every situation (accounting for the subjective
and objective factors in any situation, as
experienced by an individual and a group);
Developmental Stages (measuring levels of
consciousness or awareness); Developmental Lines
(specific "slices" or aspects of the situation as
applied to the Four Quadrants); and Developmental
States (accounting for emotions).
The
Integral approach is now being utilized by
professionals in many fields who want to gain the
advantage of a deeper level of situational
analytical ability. Click on any of the buttons to
